Fedele's work reflects our complicated subconscious, through colorful and easily digestible illustrations. Art portrays life; the good, the bad, and the ugly. In today's world we are losing our lust for life and the joy of living, due to the demanding and rigorous capitalistic routine. So when you check in on others they all claim to be doing well to hold up apperances, while the truth can be quite the contrary. We like to push down the imperfections, the messes, and all that society would not deem reflective of a clean cut life. We lose sight of the fact that when we strive for perfectionism, we no longer hold the beauty of humanity. But when it comes to art, reality seeps through the cracks. Embracing that fact is liberating and essential. Throughout Fedele’s work she welcomes the nicks and bumps that are left from the creative process, revealing the human touch. The crowded and textured brush strokes help reflect the intensity of our clouded minds. Abstraction merging with the simple flat approach reminds us of the ebb and flow of our daily lives. The bright and inviting color pallets open our hearts to the kindness and care needed in one's life. But contrary to how we paste a fake smile on our faces while around others, the expressions on each piece of Fedele’s work cannot lie about one's emotions. We must slow down and reconnect with who we are and how we feel in order to fully appreciate the human experience.
I grew up in a family of creatives, always surrounded by homemade pieces. This dynamic instilled in my head that anyone can create. But I struggled with finding my own style and way of what I wanted to create. Breaking out of the box I had created in my head of what real art was supposed to look like. Finding myself through my art, making strides to put my full self and soul into what I am creating. My art growing up alongside me, being my only consistency in my life. During this I landed myself in many art shows, placing 1st, 3rd, and more. Pushing myself further, I moved to Savannah Georgia to pursue art as a painting major at SCAD. Post graduation I am going to continue mixing my love for art with my way of life. Forming a career out of it, allowing myself to live a happy colorful life.
